Built because it didn’t exist.

Benjamin and Rebekah grew up around design, history, and spaces that feel like they've always been there. Benjamin spent years in real estate development and interior design. Rebekah brought the people side — community building, and a belief that how a space feels is as important as how it looks.

We opened Bloom & Co. first. A design firm and shop in Andersonville where we could bring clients, source materials, and do the kind of work that requires a place to call home.

The problem surfaced quickly. Every project that called for paint worth specifying, architectural wallcovering, or lighting with a point of view had the same answer: go downtown. Navigate the Merchandise Mart. A 45-minute trip for a client who wanted to see a color in a room that felt like their neighborhood. For designers and homeowners renovating the historic homes the North Side is full of, there was no alternative.

So we built one.

Heritage Home Supply opened on Clark Street in Andersonville in 2025. We brought in makers we believed in — Little Greene Paint, with three hundred years of British pigment history. David Hunt Lighting, handcrafted in the UK and available nowhere else in the United States. Barber Wilsons, the North London tap makers who hold a Royal Warrant and have been supplying Claridge's since the 1930s. Stone from Turkey and Italy. Hardware cast in solid brass by hand.

Most of them had never had a home on Chicago's North Side before. Some had never had one in Chicago at all.

We are not a department store, and we are not a catalog. We carry what we believe in, from makers who have been doing this long enough to know what they're doing. Every line we carry is one we'd specify ourselves.

Andersonville felt right because the neighborhood is full of people who care about the same things — historic homes worth restoring properly, design that lasts, businesses with a point of view. We're at 5117 N Clark, between the greengrocers and the coffee shops, which is exactly where we want to be.

If you're renovating a home on the North Side, restoring something original, or specifying a project that deserves better materials than the usual options — this is what we built it for.

Come in.
